Dr. Murthy is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeon, who treats all injuries and ailments affecting the hands, wrists, forearms, and elbows.
Dr. Murthy was drawn to the field of hand surgery by his fascination for the complex anatomy and mechanics that allow us to use our hands and arms in nearly every aspect of life. He also knows firsthand the hardship and inconvenience that results when that functionality is taken away as a result of an injury or ailment. Having fractured his forearm and undergone surgery himself as a young adult, Dr. Murthy personally relates to his patients and what they face throughout their own course of treatment. The pain of an injured limb, the uneasiness about surgery, and the difficulties of recovery are emotions and experiences he will never forget. It was also these experiences that initially sparked his interest and passion for orthopaedic surgery. This keen insight has resulted in Dr. Murthy’s personal, relatable and empathetic treatment style, which patients recognize and appreciate from the moment they meet him.
Dr. Murthy truly values the opportunity to develop personal connections with his patients and to help improve their lives. He is interested to hear every patient’s story, and to learn about their specific needs and goals. He works with each patient to create an individualized approach to treatment that best suits their unique circumstances.
