A Heritage of Excellence
In 1976, the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center held their first seminar for surgeons and therapists. This academically focused annual event is known as The Philadelphia Meeting. Celebrating over 40 years of success, it continues to attract professionals in hand surgery and rehabilitation from nearly every state and numerous foreign countries.
Research, Advanced Training and Fellowship
We have a long-standing reputation for advanced research and we maintain an internationally respected academic fellowship program and other teaching programs.
- We have trained more than 200 fellows through our Hand Surgery Fellowship program, which is now in conjuction with Thomas Jefferson University.
- We also host therapists at the academic level through our Evelyn J. Mackin Hand Therapy Fellowship.
- A two-volume resource that is edited by the Hand to Shoulder Center can be found in the finest universities and medical schools. Now in its Sixth edition, Rehabilitation of the Hand: Surgery and Therapy, is the leading resource material about the hand and arm.
